SchizoFrenetic's start

I’ve been reading Plug Your Book! Online Book Marketing for Authors, Book Publicity through Social Networking by Steve Weber, even though I don’t have a book to plug. Rather, knowing an author in the booming area of self-improvement, I wanted to see what a reasonable self-promotion campaign would entail.

Just 90 pages into the book, I already feel as though I have a wealth of knowledge as to the approach any writer or purveyor of any content should take in order to promote his or her work(s). Weber explains that establishing an audience well in advance of wanting to promote your product to a particular market segment is key.

Thus, SchizoFrenetic is born. Stowed away in the back of my brain are the basics to 4 novels I want to write in this lifetime. Though I swear to write the first book before I hit 30, I have just over 3 years left to make that casual commitment a reality. In the meantime, it is said that I have an opinion about everything, so engaging in meaningful dialogue with the virtual community is a start.

Why “SchizoFrenetic”? I admit that I had some initial concern about the title. My seventh grade biology teacher grew visibly upset when people made light of the illness schizophrenia; clearly, she knew someone afflicted. I was worried in borrowing the pre-fix “schizo” I’d somehow incur that wrath of that biology teacher, even though I wish nothing but wellness for those with such a psychological ailment.

At the end of the day, my interests are all over the place, so “SchizoFrenetic” works. I’ve been a fitness instructor for 6 years now, so fitness clearly a passion. Despite the piles of unread books I haven’t had time to read, I can’t stop compulsively buying more. I am concerned our planet is in the downward spiral of a toilet flush, given the concern the US has regarding its overall contributions to environmental degredation. Not to mention man’s (and woman’s) continued inhumanity towards man (and woman). And oh, yeah, isn’t it interesting to see how people adopt new technologies and use them for all sorts of funky things outside the assigned uses.

So here I am. Hopefully you’ll be here too.
