DECEMBER 2008 UPDATE.
THE ANNUAL WAREHOUSE SALE WILL TAKE PLACE DECEMBER 13TH AND 14TH FROM 8:30AM-3PM. CASH ONLY.
1844 E. 22nd St, Los Angeles, Ca 90058
I have long been known to be one of the best bargain shoppers around. I rarely pay full price for anything because if you just are willing to sit and wait, it will go on sale, and you will pay a reasonable price for your desired purchase.
I headed off to the candle warehouse sale this weekend. Scored some major candle buys that will keep me in a scrumptiously scented home until next year’s sale. Here is further proof of why this particular warehouse sale is the best of the year.
4 Tommy Bahama Pomegranate Lime candles (no box) $3 each ($22 each at retail) Cool discovery of the day: if you’re a fan of the Archipelago Botanicals Pomegranate Collection, you’ll like the Tommy Bahama Candles too — they’re the same scrumptious scent! I wish I had bought 6 — oh, well, next year
Archipelago Botanicals Wasabi Mint Home Spray $2 ($19 retail)
Archipelago Botanicals Fiji (coconut, sugar cane, lemon leaf) Excursion Collection Candle $3 ($19 retail) — I was really bummed that there was only one of these available, because it smelled amazing — I would have bought 4; my 2 friends also would have bought at least one.
Archipelago Botanicals Paperwhite Candle $5 ($29 at retail) The company rep thought it was funny that I thought this particular scent smelled like my grandma (my reason for purchasing is to, in fact, ship the candle to my grandma.)
Archipelago Botanicals Signature Soy Wax Candles in Vanilla Almond, Papaya-White Orange, and Pink Grapefruit 2-for-$1 ($22 at retail). Admittedly, there was no box or fancy labels on these jars, but since I’m planning on using them at home, I don’t really care about the packaging.
4×6 vanilla pillar candle, 2 at $2 each (retails between $20-$30 based on comparable items.) These candles are more ovular than round due to some obvious heat exposure, but they can still do their job — smell good.
Total spent $27.50, full price at retail $277

where is this sale at?
It’s held each December at the AB warehouse in Los Angeles:
1844 E. 22nd St, Los Angeles, Ca 90058
I find it really unfortunate that AB doesn’t have a website of its own. Rather, you typically have to buy via 3rd parties, which means a price markup
Does anyone know the dates of the 2008 sale?
it’s usually one or two saturdays in december. the first year I found it on craigslist. . . so I suspect it will wind up there.
You might aslo want to call the warehouse in late november. I’m sure they’ll be able to tell you at that point.
